Patch Notes

This chronology uses public itch.io devlogs and Steam news. It does not invent unlisted versions. If a video from spring 2026 disagrees with your launch build, check the date below before you assume a bug.

Steam launch: 9 September 2026. itch.io files at the time of this writing include 0.3.1 Windows and Linux zips. Treat 0.3.1 as a packaged follow-up to the 0.3.0 notes unless a newer devlog supersedes them.

0.3.0 — official mods, editor, replays

Mods. Official, basic mod support. Steam Workshop was not on the demo; Discord held early packs. A mod manager lives in settings. Multiplayer servers check compatibility and can enable required mods while disabling missing or unwanted ones.

Editor. Rotatable draw brushes, clickable draw-mode icons, brush intensity independent from size. Hub map editor button with a creation menu.

Replays. File format changed; old replay files may not open. Failed replays should no longer crash or soft-lock the session.

Engine. Light quality settings. Significant changes to decal, car, and terrain rendering pipelines.

Locale. Italian translation updated with prologue text.

Use mods as the player-facing version of this section.

0.2.1 — prologue and wear cuts

A story prologue replaced the old tutorial sequence. Engine wear reduced 50%. Engine oil wear reduced 30%. Multiplayer rewards reduced 30%. Other reward knobs moved in the same pass. If an old clip shows a chore list instead of a prologue, it is pre-0.2.1. New players should still follow getting started — the prologue teaches the same wrenching, with more words.

0.2.2 exists on the itch timeline (26 May 2026) as a follow-up release; consult the Steam news hub for that day’s bullet list if you need file-level detail.

0.1.x — rocks, trunk, render scale, tutorial

0.1.1 (18 Mar 2026). 3D rocks on terrain. Improved tutorial. Trunk item cycling. Render scaling in settings. Keyboard key icons. 3D field-repair icon on track preview. Water in track previews. Auto parts store ambience. Scroll bar on NPC dialogs. UI sounds in dialogs. “Press any key” accepts mouse. Grammar fixes. Russian notes shipped beside English on the itch post.

0.1.2 (20 Mar 2026) and 0.1.3 (1 Apr 2026) continued that branch; use Steam announcements for the exact deltas if you are matching an old demo zip.

Trunk cycling is why field repair can tell you to cycle items instead of grabbing slot one. Render scale is why system requirements can tell a GT640-class box to stay installed.

0.0.20 — 0.0.16 — UI, input, particles

0.0.20 (4 Mar 2026). Better event selection UI, nicer stage display, sliders show their values.

0.0.19. Input system: properties menu for analog actions (throttle, brakes, and similar) with deadzone and linearity. Settings config moved off an older Ron file format. If a review says there is no deadzone, send them to controls.

0.0.18 / 0.0.17. Incremental demo fixes on itch (late February 2026).

0.0.16 (18 Feb 2026). Particle system improved: thicker dust, tires kick rocks, graphical glitches fixed. May affect low-end performance. Tutorial sequence gained button highlights.

0.0.14. Split Contact Race: 1400 into two events. Wooden-floor footsteps in the auto parts store. Gamepad volume sliders fixed. Dialog options that failed to appear in some cases fixed.

Earlier 0.0.x builds (spark plugs that can fail, OpenGL instead of Vulkan for stability) exist on Game Jolt and itch history. They matter as flavor: plugs are real parts on the parts tier list, and OpenGL 3.3 is still the store requirement.

Steam launch (9 Sep 2026)

The paid product adds the full career loop, listed Workshop and editor, online/LAN/split-screen boxes, and a price. Introductory 10% off through 16 September 2026. Early reviews Very Positive. Feature list on Steam is the authority for what the SKU contains; this wiki’s review is the opinion layer.

If a new numbered build appears after 0.3.1, it will be appended here from Steam news or the itch devlog — not invented. Until then, wrench like 0.3.0 already gave you a manager, a prologue, and kinder oil, because it did.

When a bullet on this page changes how you pack, go back to career and tuning. Patch notes are not a trophy. They are permission to stop using last month’s bad advice.
